Dual Standby Phones:

Mostly these types of dual SIM mobiles are found in Indian Android Market. The market is filled with a lot of low cost or high end phones that supports dual Standby mode. Read the word carefully and differ that two words, you will understand what it really means. Dual + Standby, this means the phone supports dual SIM but in Standby mode. It means until you are not using any of your SIM cards, both are active and on standby. But once you start using Either SIM1 or SIM2 the other one becomes inactive. If someone calls you on the other SIM he will hear a not reachable message from your service provider. (Sometimes blank tone or nothing). This can be a big problem if you use your one SIM to make long duration calls, Cause it will keep your other SIM inactive and make you unreachable.

Another major issue with dual standby phones that support 3G is that, when the 3G / 2G network is
used the other SIM becomes inactive. Usually you will not notice this issue with normal usage, but try to download a big file or watch a streaming YouTube video, the other SIM will be unreachable. But if your phone supports Call waiting and Forwarding than you can use both of the sima at same time. You can receive calls from both the Sims at a time.

Major advantage of Dual Stand By Phones are power consumption. They use less battery than Dual Sim Active Phones. For this reason Dual sim Stand by phones are so much in use.

Dual Active phones : 

Again as the same suggest its Dual phone with active mode which means both the SIM’s are active all the time. Dual active is relatively easier to understand. Use SIM 1 or SIM 2 for voice calls or net surfing the other SIM is always active you can still receive calls on the other SIM and even switch calls for example, you can keep the caller on SIM 1 on hold and talk to the other user on SIM 2.You will still receive calls and messages on the other. You will get the option to put the first call on Hold and attend the call on the other SIM.

Dual Active phones have two separate Transceivers and in some cases diff processor cores for both SIM and this reason they consume more battery. We have to Use larger battery capacity phones. Few years back Chinese phones with Dual Active features used to come with double battery.

Surprise! Redmi 2 is here at the price of S$ 169 in Singapore! The product releases on 17 March and I'm sure many of you are just as excited as I am for the announcement! First Open Sale is on mi.com at 12 noon, 17 March. 

Not much is different between the Redmi 2 and the smartphone it is replacing in the Singapore – Redmi 1S. With the final release of the 4GB RAM Asus Zenfone 2, Chinese phone maker Ulefone has also leaked that its upcoming new monster will also boast 4 GB memory.


With the advent of 64bit chips and Android 5.0 Lollipop, smartphone are now able to support a lot more RAM and make use of it better than ever before. As 2GB RAM become the norm, some manufacturers are taking advantage of the latest version of Android and 64bit tech to skip directly to 4GB RAM phones.

Asus released a 4GB RAM Android smartphone, but they won’t be the only ones for much longer. Chinese phone maker Ulefone have also revealed that their next generation phone will also boast 4GB RAM to make the most of multitasking and powerful applications. We will soon get other  4 GB Ram mobiles from Meizu and Xiaomi.


Ulefone haven’t confirmed which phone will get 4GB RAM, but as the new Ulefone Dare has recently been leaked and looks like Iphone it seems likely that it will also gain the additional RAM.

Since it was revealed at CES this year, the Asus Zenfone 2 has been the popular point of many a discussion, with most concerned about the pricing for the phone. At CES it wasn’t clear just how much the flagship 4GB RAM model would cost, however now the phone is on sale in Taiwan we have a much better idea of pricing and specifications. Xiaomi aren’t the only ones to have a new action sports action camera this week, ZTE surprize everyone with its new Sports action Camera like Xiaomi did.

Later GoPro have made such a good job at building a usable action camera that anyone can own, that a whole new industry has been created just to compete with them, with the latest rivals coming out of China.

We have already Xiaomi Yi action camera, but now a larger player is in the field From ZTE.

ZTE announce and released ZTE Sports Camera at MWC, only one yellow device was their to be seen and it was quite clearly an early sample. Specifications are promising with a 16 mega-pixel BSI CMOS  (170" Wide Angel )Sony camera With F2.8 And For Memory 64GB SD cards and even an option LTE dock for transferring recorded video and photos and contain  MDM9215 cheapset .

What wasn’t mentioned was the video capture support. We are guessing at least 1080 as the camera
sensor seems to be the same as the one Xiaomi are using, but with Go Pro now on 4K users might be
excepting more.

Apparently the camera will come with an external case to keep it waterproof and to protect the large 170 degree Sony lens and contain One Micro USB Port but the case wasn't on display. French smartphone maker Wiko announce two new android  smart today, the Highway Star 4G and the Highway Pure 4G. The Star 4G is almost a killer which offering for Wiko, considering the fact that its other handsets are much lower-end. It has an attractive aluminum body, and it comes with some decent specs too.

Wiko Star 4G has a 5-inch 720p AMOLED touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 3, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5 MP selfie cam, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage (expandable via microSD), and a 2,450 mAh battery. It's powered by octa-core CPU which is based on ARM's Cortex-A53 architecture, clocked at 1.5 GHz. Unexpected thing is the phone supports LTE Cat.4 connectivity, for theoretical peek download speeds of up to 150Mbps. It has dual-SIM functionality, and it runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. Lets Talk about Wiko Highway Pure 4G is one of the thinnest smartphones in the world, having a
5.1mm profile. What's more, it's also incredibly light at only 91g.Spec-wise it's a bit of a downgrade compared to the Star 4G, but in this case its waistline will surely be the main attraction. The Pure 4G sports a 4.8-inch 720p AMOLED touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front snapper, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 2,000 mAh battery. At the helm is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 SoC, coming with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU. As is clear from its name, the Pure 4G supports LTE networks too, and like the Star 4G it runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat at the moment.

But Wiko hasn't announced pricing for either device yet. As for a release time frame, all we get for now is a pretty vague assurance that they'll both be up for grabs in the first half of this year. XOLO has recently released Android 5.0 update for two of its smartphones and now the company is working on an Android smartphone, which will come pre-installed with Lollipop. The new XOLO Cube 4.5 has been spotted in the database of GFXBench and Geekbench, which have in turn revealed the key specifications of the phone.

According to GFXBench database, XOLO Cube 4.5 will sport a 4.1-inch FWVGA 854 x 480 pixels display with ~217 ppi, however we believe the final version of the phone is likely to include a 4.5-inch display, as is also hinted in the name of the smartphone.   The UMI Zero is a 5-inch boasting a beautifully crafted, black “stealth-design”. The build quality is outstanding at any price but considering the Zero costs only $200 it is even more impressive.

Unusually the power button is found on the left side below the volume rocker, but it's ergonomically positioned for righthanded users. The 3.5mm headphone jack and Micro-USB charging port are also reversed, with the former at the bottom and latter at the top.

One issue for some users will be the lack of a notification LED when you receive new texts and emails, although since our review a firmware update has corrected this issue

From the design and construction of the phone alone you would easily think that the Zero could be sold for double the asking price if it came from another manufacturer like samsung or LG. UMI didn’t lie when calling this a “super body”. The slim metal chassis measures only 6.4mm and weighs a feathery 145g. All very Outstanding!

UMI Zero : With Super AMOLED Display

   Most Impressive feature of the UMi Zero is its display. Yes, it is a 5-inch FHD 1920 x 1080 Pixel with 441 PPI, but the awesome feature is a SUPER AMOLED panel! This is the same screen technology used on high-end Samsung phones, and certainly not what we expected from a $200 Chinese device.The result: Intense and crisp colors, a very high contrast only few LCD panels can reach, and a true black, which sometimes makes it impossible to distinguish the screen from the phones black frame in the dark. At this price the screen is an amazing addition to a superb looking phone.

UMI Zero : Performance & System & Ram

UMI's Zero is an octa-core smartphone, running the 2GHz MediaTek MTK6592 Turbo processor with ARM Mali-450MP4 graphics and 2GB of RAM. It works smooth like any high range phones. Awesome working without any lag. I like the speed of this mobile and its really awesome.

it has Android 4.4 KitKat ROM, that its for the most part a vanilla ROM. Anyway we were forgetting a couple of peculiarities amid the test, the most imperative one being off-screen signals. KitKat does help these out of the case, yet the UMI Zero doesn't have them. This truly is a compassion which will ideally be settled with the last firmware. You won't get the latest 802.11ac Wi-Fi (maxing out at the more standard 802.11n), NFC or 4G connectivity, but there is Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. If you're buying a phone from abroad it's important to note the frequency bands on which it operates, and the UMI Zero runs on 2G and 3G bands GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and WCDMA 900/2100MHz.

I guess 3G signals and WIFI is much weaker than on a similar plastic bodied phone. There were times during the review that we had no 3G signal at all which could become annoying. But In India you definitely get some good signal strenght. GPS was working surprisingly well with our review unit. We’ve got a first fix within seconds, and that’s even possible inside the building at the window. The sat-count was at 8 most of the time, the accuracy reaching up to 2m.

Storage-wise there's 16GB built-in, and if you're not interested in the phone's dual-SIM functionality you can instead insert a microSD card up to 64GB in capacity. It's either/or, though, not both. Don't forget that this being an Android phone you can also take advantage of Google's own and third-party cloud-storage services.


UMI Zero: Camera

 
  UMI advertised the Zero to feature a 13 mega pixel rear sony shooter  and 8 mega pixels for front.Pre-production versions of the phone came with an F2.2 aperture, but what is odd is that a firmware updated changed that number to F1.8. This is rather odd behaviour, and after reaching out to UMi they guarantee that production version will have a genuine aperture size of F1.8. Let’s hope that this is the case. You got quality Pictures with good resolution from both the side. You can take better selfies in this phone. Besides a high noise production the camera produces quite sharp shots with nice colors. The dual-LED flash  creates beautiful and sharp images.

 UMI Zero : Battery

The UMI Zero allegedly boasts a 2,780mAh Non removable battery. It’s hard to say if this is true or not, as the battery life isn’t significantly longer than with other phone. You’ll get over a day, but don’t expect any wonders. One outstanding feature of the UMI Zero is it’s capability of using fast charging. The technology comes from Texas Instruments and uses a special 2.4A charger with a special Micro USB cable. One extraordinary gimmick of the UMI Zero is its ability of utilizing quick charging. This implies yonu'll be prepared to follow simply somewhat more than one hour, in the event that you procured the propensity for re-charging your phone at 20%. When it comes to the latest software updates for our mobile devices we sometimes tend to think in fairly limited terms, focusing on only the major players like stock Android or iOS, or major ROM versions of the Android firmware like CyanogenMod or Paranoid Android. Plenty of smartphone manufacturers run their own custom version of the Android software however, and Xiaomi is a perfect example running their own in-house built custom MIUI flavor of Android on their smartphones. MIUI 6 is the latest version of the OS of Xiaomi and if you’re using a Xiaomi Redmi  1S, you might be  know that the Redmi 1S is going to be getting the update to MIUI 6.

The Redmi 1S won’t be the only older device getting the software bump however as it’s also been stated that other devices are going to be receiving the update to MIUI 6 as well sometime in the future. The Redmi 1S is not the first device to receive the update to MIUI 6 as Xiaomi officially announced the software version last summer in August of 2014 and it’s currently powering the Mi 4. Not too unlike stock Android however, there are many older devices that are left waiting for the latest version of software to be upgraded onto their phones months after the initial announcement and release.

When it comes to the owners of the Redmi 1S, the beta version of MIUI 6 is supposed to hit the airwaves sometime this week, with more devices getting the upgrade in the coming weeks ahead. Just like with other custom ROMs available for plenty of other more mainstream devices, MIUI 6 has an unofficial version of the ROM that is currently out there and available for a number of Xiaomi smartphones, which is an option for users who aren’t willing to wait for the official push from Xiaomi of the software update. Although it seems Xiaomi is starting to pick things up with the software rolling out to users more consistently now, they have been busy with many efforts in their expansion which could be an explanation as to why it’s taken longer than some may have expected to get the latest software build.

Well latest rumors said that After Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi ,  One Plus One and Vivo entered Indian market, another Chinese Mobile Giant is looking forward to debut in Indian market. UMi Mobiles is preparing to launch its UMi Zero smartphone in India. First target is Europe and second will be India ? Now fans of the Zero can order the phone in Europe direct from Topresellerstore in Italy. Shipping within Europe is much faster and the phone will be subject to a 24 month warranty.

The company is in talks with Flipkart to enter in Indian market reports GizChina. Xiaomi is also selling its smartphones in India via Flipkart, So it will be tough fight between both the smartphone makers to sell their smartphones via same platform Flipkart.

The report doesn’t provide any timeline when the UMi will launch its devices in India, nor it provided any pricing information. But we think the company will debut in Indian market soon this week after entering the Europe.

The latest tweet by @MaheshTelecom unveiled an upcoming iBall handset called the iBall Xotic. The full specifications are not yet available but only two specs and the price that have been revealed makes it somewhat exciting.

iBall Xotic is coming soon with a price tag of Rs. 7,999. This handset will come packed with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Well that’s about it, we will have to wait and check the full specifications to get an idea if this is worth the price.

Lava Mobiles had launched the Iris X8 octa core handset a day before, with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The Lava Iris X8 is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will be available from 9th February on Flipkart from 12:00 noon, the handset will also be made available in retail stores.


iBall Xotic with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage sounds similar to what the latest Iris X8 is offering, if the hardware is indeed the same (Octa Core) and some extra features like OTG support and Full HD Display then that would really be more interesting.

I think if the company launch this model with 4G Dual active Sim and 13 MP Front shooting camera and 5 MP rear shooting camera  than get so much of response by Indian customers. Also with Corning Gorilla glass and Bigger Battery its really blooming the Indian market.

Vivo, a brand of BBK Communication Technology that makes smart devices like 4G Xshot handsets, is now set to enter the Asia’s fastest-growing smartphone market India with the first launch planned in near future.

What makes it popular?  Last quarter in china, it sold more smartphones than Apple did. I think you understand why we called it Giant. From about a two per cent share in the Chinese market, Vivo has jumped up to capture six per cent (Canalys report) by the end of September 2014 to emerge the sixth largest smartphone company in China to replace Apple. Vivo Mobile India, director, Jacky Liao, said”The company also launch its smartphones in India with price range between 7k to 40k in the near future. The firm will establish its manufacturing unit in India over the next three years”. In India, it has inked pact with 20 distributors in 20 states, and the number will go up to 25 over the next year.

The company has also entered into a partnership with Viacom18 Integrated Network Solutions, which will provide marketing and communications support for building brand Vivo in India. The partnership with Viacom18 is not just for India, and it also supports Vivo in other markets.
